Toy boat… Pet funerals… Music… Farmer’s Market…Flowers…What do these have in common?
Sunday in Seattle. The little band you see above was found recently at the West Seattle Farmers Market. If you look closely you can see that they are playing toy instruments-piano, bells, xylophone, drum set and recorder.
In fact they called themselves Toy Boat. They were playing sweet and gentle music.
When they took a break I asked them about their group. The leader said it was started because she thought it would be nice for kids who had lost a pet to have music at the funeral. Well I never would have thought of that. She said however they had never actually played at a funeral.
Another pleasure of Sundays in Seattle is the gorgeous flower bouquets you can find. How about this lovely bunch of lupines, peonys, iris and daisies? Now how do I stop the cat from enjoying them just a little too much?
What is your favorite find on a Sunday in Seattle or wherever you are?
